Reverend John Issiah Peeler, Sr., while traveling home from Atlantic Cape Community College in 2016 heard the Holy Spirit clearly tell him, “You know this is going to change!” Responding in full obedience to the direction of the Holy Spirit’s direction Rev. Peeler’s life changed for the better, in faithful service to the kingdom of God and others. Rev. Peeler was licensed to ministry of preaching the gospel in July 2009 at his home church Heavensway Baptist Church in Egg Harbor Township, NJ and in 2010 selected to serve as Youth Pastor. In 2013 Rev. Peeler was once more moved by the Holy Spirit to pursue ordination and successfully completed his ordination studies through the Bethany Baptist Associate and Bethany Baptist School of Biblical Studies in May 2016. He was the first Minister to be ordained in Heavensway’s 32-year history at the time. In 2018 Rev. Peeler was selected by his Pastor and Father in Ministry Rev. John L. Mack to serve as his Assistant Pastor and on November 15th, 2020, Rev. John L. Mack, the founding Pastor of Heavensway Baptist Church, joyfully proclaimed and installed Rev. Peeler as his successor and the new Pastor of Heavensway Baptist Church.
Rev. Peeler earned his Associate of Biblical Studies degree from Andersonville Theological Seminary in 2020. Certified Pastoral Education from Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA in 2022 and currently serves as a Staff Chaplain for AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.
Rev. Peeler is married to the beautiful Jasmine Monique, and they are blessed to parent three children Jaylynn, Joelle, and John Jr.
Rev. Peeler lives to serve God well through living by faith, inspiring and teaching others to do the same.
