Psalm 11:5 – The LORD tests the righteous, But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.
“Put Up or Shut Up!” was the title of the preacher’s sermon. He told us that our faith in God is to be proven by our obedience to God’s word. Sometimes God will ask us to do the unthinkable simply to test or prove our faith in Him.
David reminds us in this Psalm that God proves us, He tests us. Abraham’s righteousness was put to the test as God instructed him to sacrifice his only son Isaac. (Gen. 22:1) Nothing proves our faith in God more than our immediate obedience to God’s commands. If God sets a mountain in front of you and tells you to go through it, do not get caught up in the details of how, why, and what for. Just trust that the God who placed it before you will be the same God to guide you through it. He will provide you with the wisdom, knowledge and understanding to get through it. God will allow these moments in our lives so that they would shape our testimony of His goodness toward us.
What mountains are you facing that God has allowed in your life? Is it the loss of a loved one, health, finance, marital, or parental? Perhaps its employment or on-the-job stress and confusion? You can pass this test, you can get through this mountain of an issue by simply going to the Holy Bible, seeing what God’s word has to say about your situation and obey God’s word by applying it to your life.
